WSOTM volume 10

01. ONDER HET ASFALT
by J.S. Rozendaal. This was the soundtrack to the S_ALT animation ‘Onder het asfalt’
based on a poem by Menno Wigman.

02.COCKTEASER
by Nwaaze. Another song from their demo ‘Mi Sabi Seker!’. Dining and whining with a little girl (hey!).
Is this the missing link between Nwaaze and TSMO?

03. THE LAND OF INNOCENCE
by Emily Stabb. This is probably the most structured track by EB ever. First sounds are ‘See emily play’
by Syd Barrett.

04. POMODORI
by Rozendaal/Van Alten. While watching the Pasolini DVD box set we saw a scene in which two italians
sing this song. This is our own “interpretation”. Live we wear aprons with the Italian flag and a huge portrait of Mussolini on it, which a friend of ours bought at an Italian market. It is a demo. We did it live once…
people did not know what to think of it…

05. CARMEN
by Victor Vroegindeweij (and the Rotterdam Boys Choir). He came by one night with this tape.
Well, since this is a quite chaotic edition of WSOTM I thought it could fit right in, so here you go!

06. PIMPS ARE MADE OF GOLD
by The Fashion Shirts. Sort of reminds me of the old SMERSH records. Make me a sergeant and
gimme da booze… (Shave my legs and call me grandpa etc.)

07. AU AU AU OEM OEM OEM
by J.S. Rozendaal. An ambient track consisting of tape recordings I made in the laundry room of a
French trailer camp in St. Valery en Caux when I was sixteen. How do u define ‘problem child’?

08. MICRODISKO
by Holland Electric. This is another outtake from the film ‘Brainstorm’ by Janneke Baken.
See below for more info.

09. TRIBAL WINDS OVER ROTTERDAM
by A.A.P., which is short for Akelige Anarchistische Puistenkoppen. The English translation would be
Nasty Anarchistric Zitheads (??). Although Argus, Jolien, and Rev were in this group, most of the
tracks were recorded by our drummer Paul Boers (currently in Spacehead) when the others did
not feel like showing up. This is such a track. Although it is called ‘Tribal winds over Rotterdam’
it was recorded in Krimpen a/d Lek.

10. I AM NANCY
by Surgical Cripple. Given the sort of noise SC would normally produce, this track can be
considered a ballad, i guess.

11. MY AQUARIUM
by Room 101. This is a Drop Nineteens cover we played live in the LVP in Leiden. No one
showed up at this gig ’cause they were remodelling the place. It was a big mess and everyone
thought the place was temporarily closed. It took us 30 minutes to find the improvised entrance.
We played anyway and it was one of our worst gigs ever.

12. LIVE@ROEPIEGROEPIE 5AM 1994
by A.A.P. This was recorded in the early morn when we squatted the Roepie Groepie bar. Why?
We got a bit carried away, I guess and the world was so small then. Sometimes not even
round but rather tetrahedron-shaped. This track was so badly recorded, it took me an hour to
recover it somewhat but since I was desperate how to compile a new volume of WSOTM at first
I included it, and kept it in. Hey… it’s free. Don’t hassle me!

13. SUBDUED BUT LIVE
by Holland Electric. Dit was het eerste wat ik op de computer heb gemaakt (AT AT AT AT AT).
